Building on a stellar 2025 NRL NT 9s Gala Day, the MacKillop Saints have named four formidable boys’ squads alongside a dynamic u13 Girls’ team to take on the Territory’s top school sides at the upcoming 2026 version of the event.

Open Boys: Championship Pedigree Leads the Charge

The Open Boys return to the pitch boasting key talent from their victorious NRL NT Schools Championship run earlier this year. Leading the team from the front are co-captains Alex Liddle and Cooper Moore, who will enter the tournament in peak form straight off an A-Grade Local League Grand Final appearance with the Palmerston Raiders.

Under-15 Boys: Squad Depth Drives Two-Team Assault

Highlighting the incredible depth within the MacKillop rugby league program, the Saints will field two distinct Under-15 sides. Saints White features a core group of players fresh off their u16s Schools Championship triumph, while Saints Ochre provides a development runway for players priming themselves for next season’s Championships.

Head Coach Matthew Sharp made no secret of the college’s ambitions for the tournament:

“I’m thrilled to be in a position to name two genuinely competitive squads. Make no mistake about it, with the calibre of talent across both sides, our target is an all-Saints Grand Final at the 9s.”
